Shannon has been a dog lover for as long as she can remember. She grew up with dogs, and as an adult fostered dogs for German Shepherd Rescue and Adoptions (GSRA). Fostering and adopting out her first foster dog, Mooky, was such a great experience that she was hooked. Shannon has been fostering and volunteering with GSRA ever since.
Shannon became interested in training in an effort to help her many foster dogs become more adoptable. Eventually this interest prompted her to leave her job as a Project Manager to become a Certified Dog Trainer. She loves to help dogs achieve their full potential, and still has a special place in her heart for German Shepherds.
Shannon's family includes her teenage daughter who is a superb trainer herself. Together they have five dogs. Moby is a Border Collie/Pointer mix who adores people but doesn't pay much attention to other dogs. Kasey is a German Shepherd / Hound mix who loves other dogs, and is the house clown. Lexus is a German Shepherd who is a foster failure. She can be timid with people, but is usually nurturing with other dogs. Brodie is another foster failure who is challenging Kasey for the title of house clown. The newest addition to the family is a German Shorthaired pointer puppy named Leroy who captivates everyone he meets.
