Tracy’s family of five moved to North Carolina in 2007, and she quit the corporate world to become a stay-at-home mom for her 3 children. She and her daughter started volunteering at the Wake County SPCA where they learned the #1 reason dogs are given up by their owners is due to behavior issues. One thing led to another and Tracy decided to pursue a career in dog training.
Tracy has worked with breeds small, large, smart, and/or stubborn. She enjoys dog training because she gets a chance to really discover the personality of each dog which are often different than breed stereotypes. Tracy has found that trainees, as well as the entire family, all benefit from her being an effective leader who can create a relaxed, secure environment where everyone knows what is expected from them. She incorporates positive reinforcement and exercise into each dog's daily activities in which she is diligent to watch out for good behaviors and reward them. Patience, persistence, consistency and praise are what it’s all about.
