Canine Parkour is the perfect class for athletic dogs, high energy breeds, or dogs who need confidence boosters. The class starts out with the basics of leadership and obedience, and then Anitra gets everyone moving. Jumping on walls, benches, walking across grates, sliding down inclines, all while incorporating fast paced obedience keeps the dogs engaged. They stay busy and have so much fun, they don’t get a chance to think about the distractions around them. This works great to channel those attention spans into something fulfilling for the pups.
Pictured here we see Drogo and Ted, two very different dogs that are weary of each other and what’s around them. During Parkour, they learned to pay attention to their owners despite big distractions, allowing them to stay in a sit on a wall and then stay seated even when the other dog was called. The end result is being calm, relaxed, and able to hang out.
If you want to try out Canine Parkour, hurry and sign up! It takes place in downtown Raleigh on Sundays at 4pm. The next class starts January 8th and we hope to see you out there!
