Chance and Honey are learning the same rules apply to both of them! Chance and Honey live together, so it’s important for the humans to teach the manners. This way Chance and Honey learn to look up at their people instead of plotting their next adventure together. Cuteness doesn’t matter here, just polite manners! While Chance works on self control and manners, he can set the example for his sister.
SIT at the gate is another threshold where they must wait for permission to be released to leave the yard. Trainer Tracy mixes it up so sometimes they can come with her, and sometimes they can't. They never know, so it’s best to pay attention! Tracy stands waiting until they both look up at her, instead of staring at her feet, planning their escape! Sometimes they may try to act adorable and play with each other, but Tracy is on to their games! Waiting calmly for them to look up at her also allows Tracy to promote and reward calmness. This gets them in the habit of looking up at Tracy for whatever she might ask them next, and not dashing past her.
