Roscoe is graduating from Training Camp today! He has had a ton of fun and adventures with his trainer Jonathan, and now he is ready to return home. He has come a long way in these three weeks and learned how to focus and practice self control on walks and around people. Jonathan now gets to train Roscoe's family on everything he learned at camp so that Roscoe continues to be a well mannered boy.
Roscoe came to camp needing lots of self control, especially on a leash when walking past other dogs. He would get so consumed with excitement and the need to go say hello to a potential dog friend that it made walks a challenge. With patience and consistency, Jonathan has reinforced proper leash manners in all types of settings. This has helped Roscoe tremendously. He knows there is a time and place for everything, and looks for his human’s direction on walks instead of making decisions for himself. Good manners on leash has also helped Roscoe learn to respect people’s space.
Roscoe was a star in our Continuing Education class on Sunday at Brentwood Park! Jonathan lead the class, and used Roscoe to demonstrate a leash exercise. Roscoe showed off his skills, focusing on Jonathan, with all the other trainers, students, and dogs around him. Way to go Roscoe!
