Nixxie really knows how to relax. She has her training down to the point that Continuing Education is like a trip to the spa with friends! She keeps her manners in check and gets to have fun with everyone. Here she is rolling in the cool grass and kicking back!
Blue likes to come to CE to keep his social skills well polished. New dogs can make him anxious, so a weekend at Paula's house meeting new dogs helps him get over his fears. When introducing new dogs, it's important to go for a walk together first, to reinforce that the people are leading, and it also helps the dogs burn off excitement. After a walk is the best time to let dogs meet, once the energy is more leveled and they've already spent some time together walking. Then during playtime, we always supervise to make sure everyone is having fun!
If you're going out of town, send your dog for a stay with one of our trainers to keep manners in check and continue socializing. This is a great program because the dogs stay in our homes and work in real life situations, get to see their old friends from camp, and don't get away with any bad habits! It gives peace of mind knowing your dog is having a little vacation of his own while you're away.
