At PetSmart, Cooper did an excellent job holding his sit while Kersti shopped around. He LOVES toys, so walking by toys without grabbing anything was a big challenge for him. With reminders to pay attention, Cooper was able to walk up and down each aisle and focus on his trainer with all the tempting things around him. His reward for doing a good job was picking a toy of his own. Kersti adds in the command “Get it!” to make it her idea. This way Cooper is grabbing something on command and not whenever he wants to. He picked a blue stuffed dog and happily carried it all over the store until it was time to check out.
In Home Depot, Cooper had fun walking through lots of new situations. There were people with big carts full of all kinds of objects, new noises, machinery, and lots of people. He did great passing through without jumping or barking at anyone. When people asked to pet him, Cooper gladly sat for affection. When it was time to check out, he sat in line and patiently waited while lots of things were happening around him.
It was a great day for Cooper! What a good boy!
