Luna is learning good habits and manners while she adventures through her 3 week training camp with trainer Tracy. Tracy writes:
"Luna is starting to realize that car rides take us to fun places, not just the vet's office. :-) Even though she is excited to catch up with her new dog friends, Luna needs to stay calm and never jump out of the car without permission. Safety always comes first!
We started practicing our car manners at home as part of our daily leash drills. SIT to jump in & SIT to jump out. Just because the car door opens doesn't mean she gets to jump out right away. I may be putting bags in the car, or it may not be safe to exit. Practicing at home where it's safe teaches Luna what's expected before we head out to busier places like parks and shopping centers. I use my body to block her and claim the space when I open the door. I can either tell her WAIT or have her SIT. I also move around and test her self control. I'm using the leash just in case I need to put her back. The goal is for Luna to wait for permission no matter where we go!"
